Biography

At the age of 19, she is spotted by the director of Water Lilies, Céline Sciamma. The young filmmaker is seduced by the appeal of the young woman she runs into at the Foire du Thône and decides to cast her for the part of Marieme, in her latest feature, Girlhood which allows her to be nominated for the 2015 Cesar Ceremony in the category « Meilleur Espoir Féminin ».

Without having ever taken acting classes, Karidja discovers in her a natural talent for acting and takes on film after film. This year, we’ve seen her alongside Catherine Deneuve and Catherine Frot in The Midwife and she will star in the family drama by Cedric Klapisch Ce qui nous lie.

This summer she will play a young high school student in Alexandre Castagnetti’s new teen movie La Colle along with Arthur Mazet.
