During her studies in comparative Literature, History of art and Psychology Mareike discovered film-making while filming dancers on the New York underground. She starts alternating between experimental films and narrative fiction and has worked as an assistant director for Volker Schlöndorff and Roman Polanski, amongst others. She is currently writing her first feature film as part of the screen writing course of La Femis film school.
