An actress and political sciences student, Clara Maria Laredo is a militant young woman that was born in Bastia, Corsica, in 2003. She went to school in Ajaccio before leaving for Brussels after graduation. At the age of 16, she founded the SSP association, which supports the marginalized, while raising awareness amongst the youth. In parallel, she got politically involved in nationalist Corsican causes. At the age of 18, she started studying political sciences in Brussels and did an internship as a parliamentary assistant for MEP François Alfonsi. It is then that he suggested she writes for the autonomist review “Arritti”. She then got started in copywriting, and wrote an article about Thierry De Peretti’s film Undercover (Enquête sur un scandale d’État). She later heard that the director was looking for young actors to star in his next film, and decided to try for casting, hence taking her first steps in cinema as the lead actress of À son image.
