The poster of Champs-Élysées Film Festival’s 14th edition reveals a solar and playful icon, a triumphant Marilyn Monroe,. To celebrate this new edition, we continue our collaboration with Magnum Photos, and shed light on Elliot Erwitt’s work, with a photograph taken on the film shoot of John Huston’s The Misfits, during the summer of 1960 in Nevada.

Marilyn’s bright and communicative energy coming through in this picture will set the tone and bring a breath of fresh air to this edition. From June 17 to 23, 2025, Champs-Élysées Film Festival will share with you the best of contemporary French and American creation, and celebrate a generation of artists that question our era through the lens of creation. During one week, you will preview a panorama of the latest independent productions from both countries, a selection of heritage films within a socio-political thematic section, three juries made up of eclectic and unique members, and a cutting-edge music line-up to groove to on the first summer nights atop the most beautiful rooftop of the capital!

For the first time, the festival will pay tribute to Marilyn Monroe with an exceptional screening of The Misfits, John Huston’s waning-Hollywood masterpiece from which the photograph of this edition’s poster is taken. Released in 1961, the film is adapted from Arthur Miller’s eponymous novel. A piercing and immensely woeful cry of love, the story of these “misfits” bears witness to the end of an era: Hollywood’s golden age, and the myth of the American Far West. This brilliant and cursed film will turn out to be the last for its stars, Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable. The screening will be followed by a conversation retracing the trajectory of the shining and eternal Hollywood icon, celebrating her intelligence, her boldness, her timelessness and her ultra-modernity.

This 2025 edition will state once again the festival’s commitment to the revealing of talents through a selection of bold, relevant, and unique movies.
