Through the streets of Memphis, Lil ’Buck recounts his personal story intertwined with the history of Jookin. After his ascent in the very exclusive world of ballet, Lil’ Buck heads back to this mythical city to teach dance to the youth, offering them an opportunity for a better future.
After his studies in Philosophy and Musicology, Louis Wallecan worked as a producer assistant for François Duplat at Bel Air Media for 2 years. He travelled the world visiting various opera stages such as Bolchoï, Scala, New York City Ballet amongst others. He was fascinated by this world and built his experience by capturing artists' performances and being in contact with them. He then directed two 52 minutes documentaries about classical music for France Télévision and two first documentaries for France 2, as writer-director : Little Opera about the New York opera with Roberto Alagna and Anton Coppola, then Dancing Is Living : Benjamin Millepied.
Simultaneously, he directed an episode of the tv series Parmi Les Hommes for FRANCE Ô, about global warming. Lil’Buck Renaissance is his first feature-length documentary for cinema. Louis Wallecan actually works on the script of his first narrative feature-length film.
