Biography
Thomas studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique from 1997 to 2000. Right after graduating, he performed the role of Hypolite in Racine’s classic play, Phèdre, directed by Christian Rist, then worked under the direction of Julie Brochen, Eric Vigner, Gisèle Vienne, Hubert Colas and recently in the opera King Arthur staged by Marcial Di Fonzo Bo.
In 2004, the rock band St-Augustin is created by choreographer and director Yves-Noël Genod with whom Thomas performed in more than twenty shows : Mr Villovitch, Hamlet, Hommage à Catherine Diverrès, Pour en finir avec Claude Regy, Blektre, Marseille-Massacre, Dior n’est pas dieu, Une saison en enfer…
Between 2000 and 2011, he staged many plays such as Jean Genet’s Haute surveillance, two plays from Copi (L’Homosexuel ou la difficulté de s’exprimer, Les Quatre Jumelles), L’Encre noire (choreography from Léopold Sédar Senghor’s writings), and Baboons ou comment justifier l’action des flics. In 2010, he joined the theater collective Chiens de Navarre to perform each play : Raclette, Nous avons les machines, Quand je pense qu’on va vieillir ensemble…
In movies, he worked with filmmakers such as Sébastien Marnier (L’heure de la sortie), Sébastien Betbeder (Journey to Greenland), Eloise Lang (Larguées), Joséphine De Meaux (Le syndrome du moniteur de ski) and was nominated at the César Award for Most Promising Actor for its role in Apnée by Jean-Christophe Meurisse.
He is currently acting in Valérie Donzelli’s new feature Notre Dame and will be starring in Nicolas Bedos’s La belle époque and Julien Rambaldi’s C’est la vie.
As a filmmaker, he will direct his first feature short film this year, Le film des autres.
