Éléonore drives West. Her car breaks down in the middle of Brittany, France. Forced to spend her time waiting for the car’s new carburetor which is taking forever to arrive, she rents a bungalow on a campsite with a view of the lake, in which, it is said, lives a legendary beast. She begins to observe its peculiar residents, and soon the tourists arriving en masse. More than anything, she is waiting to see the beast. What could it look like? And in fact, what is Éléonore really waiting for?

Born in Paris in 1979, artist and filmmaker Éléonore Saintagnan lives and works in Brussels. A graduate of Le Fresnoy – she directs short and mid-length films that blur the boundaries between documentary and fiction. Her immersion method consists in inviting amateur actors to act out versions of themselves. Her works her selected in several festivals. In 2023, her first feature Camping du Lac, was lauded at the Locarno Festival, in the Present-Day Filmmakers section.
