“I sometimes feel like everything I learned in life, I learned it through cinema, through movies. Movies taught me to look at the world, to listen to it, to dream of it changing. Movies allowed me to understand politics, movies taught me love, movies taught me travel. Making them was but the extension of my spectator gaze. And that’s why I am thrilled and honored to preside this twelth edition of Champs-Élysées Film Festival, bridge between French and American independent creation. With the members of my jury, I will discover twelve movies. Twelve voices. Twelve outlooks on the world. Twelve desires for cinema, desires for speech, desire for mise-en-scene. It’s an immense joy.”

Short Formats Jury

“I am honored to be the Champs-Élysées Film Festival’s Short Format Jury President. Of course I would have preferred to be just President but it’s already pretty good to be short President. It’s a category I love to watch because the filmmakers are often very free and liberated of complexes. It’s a less constraining format than feature films’, which allows for all kinds of extravagances. It’s cinema’s rebel child. And as the general de Gaulle used to say: “I believe there are honest forms of resistance and legitimate rebellions.” Just kidding, it’s an Amanda Lear quote. See you soon”.

honorée d’être Présidente du jury formats courts de Champs-Élysées Film Festival. C’est sûr que j’aurais préféré être Présidente tout court, mais c’est déjà bien d’être Présidente du court. C’est une catégorie que j’adore regarder car les réalisateur·ices sont souvent très libres et décomplexé·e·s. C’est un format moins contraignant que le long, qui permet toutes les extravagances. C’est l’enfant rebelle du cinéma. Et comme disait le général de Gaulle “Je crois qu’il y a des résistances honnêtes et des rébellions
