[Competition] American independent feature films

This year, the protagonists of our six American feature films share a similar existential concern, that of succeeding in making their voices heard in a society that is much too often antagonistic to their gender, cultural and class identities. These works question us on the reality of our relationship to ourselves and our fragile capacity for empathy. Virginia Wolf used to say “For she had come to feel that it was the only thing worth saying–what one felt” and hence, each flutter holds the utmost importance in this official selection.
