The go-to festival for all film lovers on the Champs-Élysées
After the success of its first edition and the 15,000 spectators it drew, the Champs-Élysées Film Festival – which was created by producer, distributor and cinema owner Sophie Dulac – is back for a second year from June 12th to 18th.
The festival will operate with the same ambition as last year: making the Champs-Élysées Avenue the meeting place for a popular, festive and cultural event around the cinema. Thus, we have prepared a program up to par with the best international film festivals.
Here is what to expect during the festival, presided by Olivier Martinez:
– A selection of eight independent American feature films, reflecting the diversity of the movie industry in the US. One of these films will be awarded the “Prix du Public” (Audience Award).
– A selection of over thirty five French and American short films, submitted to the public’s vote.
– Prestigious French and American movie premieres, most of them presented by cast and crew.
For its second edition, The Champs-Élysées Film Festival will also feature new selections such as:
– The TCM Cinema Essentials. Thirteen feature films and documentaries, classics of the French and American cinema that have been restored for screening. One of these films will be awarded the “Prix des lycéens” (Award attributed by a jury of students)
- A series of Master Classes during which audience members will be able to meet and interact with great filmmakers such as Costa Gavras, Cédric Klapisch, Frédérick Wiseman…
– A new program entitled “Jeune Public” (Young Audience) will feature movie premieres for children and cine-concerts.
– A charity event to benefit the organization “Les Toiles Enchantées”, celebrating its 15th anniversary, with a movie premiere and exceptional guests.
All in all, more than sixty films will be shown over a hundred screenings in all the theaters along the Champs-Élysées Avenue: the Balzac, the Gaumont Champs-Élysées, the Lincoln, the Publicis Cinémas, the UGC George V and the MK2 Grand Palais.
