After training at the ENS Louis-Lumière, Élie Girard made numerous short films as a director of photography as well as music videos and films (notably with La Blogothèque). He then collaborated in the writing of Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat’s films and attended the Scenario workshop at La Fémis. Following his growing desire to make his own films, he directed his first medium-length film Les Mauvais Garçons (awarded in Clermont-Ferrand and Pantin, winner of the César for the best short film in 2022), which was released in theaters in January 2022 (alongside with the short film Pauline asservie directed by Charline Bourgeois-Tacquet). The same year, he co-created, co-wrote and co-directed with Camille Rosset the series Platonique for OCS. Élie is currently developing his first feature film with Films Grand Huit.
