Eve, 35 years old, has just lost her grandmother. She had promised to accompany her to the island of Lanzarote to celebrate the Burial of the Sardine, a pagan rite that celebrates chaos. Eve lands alone on the volcanic island. As soon as she arrives, her retreat is disrupted by her two best friends, Bonnie and Rita, who have come to surprise her.

After studying Fine Arts, History, and Information and Communication Sciences, Johanna Caraire spent some time in Paris in an audiovisual production company. Back in Bordeaux, she became involved in a short film association. In 2011, she founded with Pauline Reiffers the association Sowing Doubt, then the Bordeaux International Independent Film Festival (FIFIB) in 2012. They have been co-directing the FIFIB for 10 years. Johanna is responsible for the overall artistic direction of the festival. In 10 years, she has collaborated with Léo Soesanto, Édouard Waintrop and Natacha Seweryn successively in charge of the festival's programming. Sardines is her first short film produced.
