Maud Lübeck & Irène Jacob

Maud LübeckIn 2012, her first album La Fabrique received a shower of praise and Maud Lübeck then performed a series of concerts, notably opening for Dominique A. She returned four years later with Toi non plus, a concept album written and composed during a break-up. Before writing in only one summer the opposite concept in 2018: Divine, Chroniques d’une rencontre.

Her fourth album, 1988, Chroniques d’un adieu (February 2022 – Finalistes/Kuroneko) is a musical novel, the feature film of an era, a play in 11 acts. “Making this album felt good, I felt like I was a big girl telling the little girls’ story. It was very sweet.”

Maud Lübeck reopened her diary from when she was 15 and drawn inspiration from it to write these chapters. The successive quarantines had their positive side : Maud Lübeck made the most of this reclusion, she worked on her new songs, first on the piano and then turned them into a demo. In a studio, later, real musicians played the strings, the drums, the guitar and the bass and actresses of her choice made their voice heard here and there : Irène Jacob in “Ouverture”, Clotilde Hesme in “Était-ce toi” and Nicole Garcia for a moving duet in “Non”. Critical acclaim once again for this unique artist of the French scene.
