"A Love Song is a sweet, nostalgic ballad, that of Faye waiting for Lito at campsite number 7 in the glorious Colorado landscape. In this timeless setting, Faye ritualizes her days of waiting with crayfish catching, readings – a book for day to identify the birds and a book for night to identify the stars, reminding us that our bodies, though bound to the ground by gravity, cannot prevent the soul from projecting itself into the sky.

This debut feature film offers a delicate portrait of a woman – played to perfection by actress Dale Dickey – suspended in an in-between world, between her love for her late husband and the hope of new love with a childhood friend. Max Walker-Silverman takes us on an immobile road trip in which the characters' desires travel in glances, gestures, and the lyrics of a song, in hopes of escaping this world frozen in time."
