The 3rd edition of the Champs-Élysées Film Festival, a festival that puts the audience first.
After the success of its first two editions, the Champs-Élysées Film Festival, which was created by producer, distributor and cinema owner Sophie Dulac, is back for a third year from June 11 to 17.
The festival has now proven it is the popular, festive and cultural event of the year on the most beautiful avenue in the world and this year, we have prepared an even more ambitious and diverse program honoring French and American independent films.
Here is what to expect during the festival, presided by Jacqueline Bisset and Bertrand Tavernier:
– A selection of independent American feature films which will compete for the “Prix du Public”(Audience Award) and “Prix des Blogueurs” (Bloggers Award). This year, the competition will shine a light on African-American cinema.
– A selection of over 35 French and American short films, some of which made in film schools,
– Prestigious French and American movie premieres, most of them presented by cast and crew,
– A series of Master Classes during which audience members will be able to meet and interact with our honorable guests, Agnès Varda, Keanu Reeves, Whit Stillman and Mike Figgis.
– A selection of great restored classics of the French Cinema that will pay tribute to Henri Langlois as we remember his centenary,
– The TCM Cinema Essentials will feature classics of the American cinema that have been restored for screening. One of these films will be awarded the “Prix des lycéens” (Award attributed by a jury of students)
– The “Young Audience” screenings will feature movie premieres for children and surprises.
– A charity event on the night of June 16, to benefit the organization “Les Toiles Enchantées” with exceptional guests.
– Professional meetings with US in Progress and, a new addition this year, the Paris Coproduction Village,
– Special evenings such as a horror movie night on Friday 13th and a karaoke night to celebrate the release of a newly restored version of “Donkey Skin”.
All in all, more than sixty films will be shown over a hundred screenings in all the theaters along the Champs-Élysées Avenue: the Balzac, the Gaumont Champs-Élysées, the Lincoln, the MK2 Grand Palais, the Publicis Cinema and the UGC George V.
