Biography

Sophie LETOURNEUR began her directing career in 2004 with the short film La Tête Dans Le Vide, after graduating from the École Duperré and the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs. She then directed two medium-length features, Manue Bolonaise (2005) and Roc Et Canyon (2007). In 2009, she wrote and directed La Vie Au Ranch, in which she films a real-life group of friends living in community. The film received the Audience and the French Film awards at the Entrevues Film Festival in 2009.

In 2011, Le Marin Masqué was screened in Locarno, and she shot Les Coquillettes, where the film premiered at the same festival in 2012 and was released in France in March 2013. She both directed and acted in these two films, disclosing her acting talent.

She directed a new feature in 2014, Gaby Baby Doll, marking a turning point in her career.
