To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship between Paris and Chicago, the Urban Atmospheres section highlights the city of Chicago. Between vertiginous skyscrapers and underprivileged neighborhoods, the city inspired many major films, from science fiction to documentary.
Through some of these movies, this section offers a glimpse at the soul of the « American Paris », the city of blues, dixieland jazz, hip-hop, basketball, riots, racial discriminations, gangs, in the line of the legendary Al CAPONE.
If it gave birth to many artists, it also made them flee, according to the popular saying from the 90s, « Chicago hates you ».
However, some others stayed in the Windy City and intend to bring it a new life!
