Editorial

It’s with a renewed pleasure than the teams of the Festival de Cinéma Européen des Arcs join forces with Sophie DULAC and Champs-Élysées Film Festival to organize the Paris Coproduction Village.

For this third edition, we will once more present to French and other European professionals fifteen feature film projects from all over the world, in addition to six projects from the Cannes Film Festival Cinéfondation residency. Our goal is to foster the emergence of talented new directors and celebrate the diversity of international cinema (to which France is one of the main partners). This year, we are highlighting Colombia: this country has produced some of the most dynamic and promising cinema of the last few years, with many films receiving awards in major festivals.

Now part of the Industry Days of the Champs-Élysées Film Festival, the program will showcase projects with different advancement status, between U.S. in Progress – 5 American films in post-production – and the films in development of the Paris Coproduction Village. It will offer one-on-one meetings, conferences, and workshops, as well as networking events in a friendly and festive environment.

We’d like to again thank all of our partners for their support, and the professionals who attend, each year in larger numbers, and take part in these three days of meetings.

Presentation

Paris Coproduction Village, a development and funding platform for feature film projects selected throughout the world, aims at fostering European investments in international coproduction

After the bracing success of the first two editions, the team of the Festival de Cinéma Européen des Arcs renews the organization of this event, which has a landmark in the French film industry professional calendar.

During three days, fifteen international projects intended for French and European coproduction are presented to professionals. The six projects of the Cannes Film Festival Cinéfondation are also part of the selection. The participants benefit from individual meetings as well as networking events and seminars hosted by key players of the film industry. Each year, we are pleased to welcome more than 200 professionals.

For the second consecutive year, a country is showcased during our event: in 2016, we celebrate the Colombian film industry, in partnership with Proimágenes. Three projects from the selection will be Colombian, and a convention on French-Colombian coproductions will be organized, featuring key players of the sector.

The project selection will be announced in May. The film professionals will then be able to register online (www.pariscopro.com) to meet with the representatives of the projects they are interested in, during a three-day session of one-to-one meetings.

Paris Coproduction Village is supported by the Région Île-de-France, the CNC, Proimágenes Colombia, the Procirep and Cofiloisirs. It is organized with its partners the Cannes Film Festival Cinéfondation, ACE, Cinando, Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum, Variety, LatAm, Producers Network, Screen, EAVE, Europa International, Cineuropa and Écran Total.
