The city of Washington D. C. has succeeded in eradicating crime. Three precogs, mutated humans gifted with precognition, are able to see the future. Thanks to their visions, PreCrime, a specialized police department, apprehends criminals before they committed their wrongdoings. One day, the Chief of PreCrime, John Anderson, gets a vision from the precogs about himself: in less than 36 hours, he will kill a man he hasn’t met yet, and for a reason he ignores. Shocked, he runs away, chased by his own team who has to put him under arrest, in compliance with the system.
