Alan Crosland is an American director, screenwriter and producer. After leaving MGM, in 1925 he was hired by Warner Bros with whom he directed numerous silent films, including Don Juan (1926) with John Barrymore. In the wake of this success, he was chosen to direct Al Johnson in The Jazz Singer, the first talking film.
