Maya Forbes grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After studying at Harvard, she settled in LA in order to write for cinema and television. She started her career with the HBO comic series The Larry Sanders Show, which she produced and wrote. She is credited as a screenwriter for the animation film Monsters Vs Aliens and Seeing Other People, co-written with her husband Wally Wolodarsky. Infinetely Polar Bear is her first feature film as a director.
